Helo everyone and a Happy New Year to all. Well, I am now back in Manchester, and oh my goodness, talk about a wind-swept look. Stormy weather or what? Hope that everyone has stayed safe, heard on the news that there have been a few falling trees and structural damage, so I do hope no-one has been affected by these stormy conditions.
returned from the Gambia, wow, what a place, once you have become used to the cultural diversity, what a treasure this small country is. I had never been there before, so did not know really what to expect, everyone who had been had a different opinion, so sometimes you just have to see for yourself. I was enchanted by the place, the people, the weather, in fact, all of it. Saw some amazing sights, but have to admit, I did`nt venture to far when viewing the alligator farm monkey park . Whoa, that was a bit scary. However, one is reminded that the people there, who are so delightful and humble, do not have much, so I just had to visit one of the local schools. I had taken lots of paper and pencils for the children and what joy it was to see there little faces full of excitement and happiness, I could have stayed with them for such a long time, but my time was limited but has left me with beautiful memories of laughing children.
The beach was just heaven and it was so good to escape from all the Xmas hullaballoo and chill out for a few days in beautiful surroundings. What a gem.
Back in Manchester and home again, it`s nice to go on vacation but always nice to come home, and especially looking forward to hearing from you all. I`d like to take this opportunity to wish you all a brilliant and happy 2012 and lets hope we all have a fabulous year, new experiences, new encounters and new beginnings. Take care, luv Anna x x
