love my short skirts !!!!!
It was only because I received a phone call from a lovely couple in Bowness that prompted me to share my week-end break experience, even though it was a while ago. Normally, when we meet people on holiday or on short breaks away, we promise to keep in touch, and although well- intentioned , we very rarely do. I, like most people, fully intend to, but when back home, daily routines kick -in and time passes by and the moment is lost .Imagine my surprise when this lovely couple did keep in touch ——and so I share this weekend- break experience with you.
Back in May, The Bank Holiday presented me with a opportunity to have a weekend break in the Lake District. Myself and my date made the journey in a fabulous convertable sports car as the weather was very pleasant. The views were spectacular and it was pure joy taking in the wonderful scenery- and just to feel the wind in my hair was exilarating. Of course I dressed accordingly, a very nice flowery apple-green number (suitably mini), accompanied by my trademark high- heels and designer sunglasses. A sexy outfit to match a sexy car, which totally met with my date’s approval! Our dining experience was at the Porthole Restaurant (Lucy 4). The menu is loosely based on Tapas and very socially interactive, lots of choice. The ambience was excellent , as was our wine of choice for the evening , a full -bodied Rioja. It was such an enjoyable evening, mixing with the local folk and ‘weekend -breakers’. I even discoverered that this establishment runs its own cookery school – mental note made, who knows , one day I may even partake and enhance my culinary skills..!
We had not taken into account how busy the hotels would be during the Bank Holiday and finding suitable accommdation was proving a little problematic, so our intention was to drive back to Manchester. However, during the evening as the dancing got underway, we got caught up in the atmosphere and carried on ‘boogying’ well into the early hours. A very friendly D.J. playing great music (80′s classics), a favourite of mine. We got talking to a lovely couple and it wasn’t long before I and my newly acquired lady-friend started our dirty-dancing. Being game for a laugh, we really strutted our stuff and had a ball. This couple were amazing, and after hearing of our plight with accomodation, kindly offered us an invitation to stay in their home in Bowness. I was touched by this genuine act of friendship and we accepted their kind offer. We stayed in a private wing of this fabulous home and awoke early to a wonderful home-cooked breakfast. Not wanting to impose any further, and with my faith in human nature complete, we bid our farewells with gratitude! xxx Anna
